Hi,

I frequently receiving following email from one of my cPanel servers:

httpd failed @ Thu Aug  09 01:39:08 2009. A restart was attempted automagically.
Service Check Method:  [tcp connect]

Failure Reason: Unable to connect to port 80

I couldn't find any reasons behind this failure. Can someone help me to find root cause?

Thanks,

Digitalpoint

It seems that your server is exceeding number of allowed connection. Check Apache error log:

grep MaxClients /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log

Thanks... It was the issue. The connection was exceeded the limit which was set in httpd.conf.

I am not sure if there is any limit.. obviously if you set large number, your server may overloaded.
