Currently I run a 3 year old Intel Celeron D with 512 RAM. I need a new computer...bad...real bad.

In most of the new computers though they offer Vista only and I've heard that Vista causes a heck lot of problems. At least when it first came out.. i'm not sure how it is now.

My plan is to buy a 3GB RAM Intel Core 2 Duo...would Windows Vista cause me any problems? Would it be better to downgrade to XP? What are all your experiences with Vista?

I too use window vista. The rich set of features of window vista is really helpful. Not like other operating systems, it provides a higher degree of security to the system.

We found Vista updates for the Futuremark benchmark programs 3DMark and PCMark, as well as the popular data compression tool WinRAR.XP is a great and efficient operating system - and extremely streamlined able to handle all the tasks I ever need to use such as multimedia, internet, document and administration. When I got a new PC, it had Vista on it. I want to downgrade to XP because too many things don't work right on Vista. It is slow and sometimes crashes.

As per my view vista is best. I am using vista ultimate sp2 64 bit currently. It is a pretty good OS really. I am a computer architect by trade and I have used many computers over the last 5 years of my computing history and i saw vista is much better than windows XP.

From my experience, Windows XP is better than Windows Vista. I have used Windows XP for many years and its my second best OS. Currently, I am using Windows 7 and its my most favorite operating system.

If your going to be upgrading to a 3GB RAM Intel Core 2 Duo, then Windows Vista shouldn't cause you any problems Smiley I have Windows Vista on my computer, and I like it better than XP. Its not advisable to downgrade operating systems in my opinion. Newer operating systems have better security features, and are more compatible with newer computer programs.

Windows Vista is better than the Windows XP. There are many changes we can see in the Windows Vista. In vista there are many new features are included like: Including Windows Aero, Windows Ultimate Extras and Integrated search.

Windows XP is my favorite operating system and is best compared to Vista. However. I would like to add that currently I am using Windows 7 and its the best of all. Other than that I have used XP for more than 10 years.
